A tragic accident occurred on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Gomoa Mangoase on the Agona Swedru-Winneba road, where the driver of a Kia Rhino, carrying sachets of water, is feared dead after colliding with a tipper truck. The tipper truck, which was transporting sand, had attempted to overtake a taxi but collided head-on with the Kia Rhino coming from the opposite direction.
The driver’s mate sustained severe injuries, and both were rushed to the Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital for treatment. The tipper truck driver and his two mates reportedly fled the scene.
Assemblyman Adams Suleman confirmed the incident, adding that local prison officers helped rescue the trapped victims from the Kia Rhino.
