The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced the posting of 106,223 university graduates for the 2024/2025 national service year. The placements cover graduates from all accredited universities across the country, as well as Ghanaians who have completed studies abroad, defaulters, and private applicants who registered for national service.
In a statement issued on Friday, September 6, 2024, the Director-General of the NSA, Osei Assibey Antwi, assured that a subsequent mop-up exercise would be conducted to accommodate any unassigned graduates. The NSA reiterated the importance of this exercise, noting that it contributes significantly to national development by engaging graduates in various sectors across the country.
The deployment process outlined by Mr. Antwi is straightforward and requires all assigned personnel to follow specific steps for validation and registration. The following steps are crucial for all posted graduates:
1. Check Placement: Graduates are advised to log onto the NSA’s official website (www.nss.gov.gh) to verify their placement.
2. Print Appointment Letter: After checking the placement, personnel must print their appointment letter and proceed to their designated place of posting for endorsement.
3. Book Appointment for Registration: After endorsement of the appointment letter, personnel are required to book an appointment online for the date and time of registration at the designated Regional Validation and Registration Centre.
4. Complete Registration: On the assigned registration date, personnel must present their endorsed appointment letter and a valid Ghana Card at the registration centre to complete the process.
The validation and registration process will begin on Thursday, September 12, 2024, and will run until Monday, September 30, 2024, at regional centres nationwide. The service year is set to officially commence on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
The NSA emphasized that reposting of personnel will not be allowed, urging all deployed graduates to embrace their postings as part of their contribution to the nation’s development.
Mr. Antwi also conveyed his best wishes to all service personnel, expressing confidence that the 2024/2025 service year would be both successful and fulfilling for all participants.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) continues to play a critical role in Ghana’s workforce development, providing university graduates with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while contributing to key sectors of the economy. This year’s postings, which include over 100,000 graduates, reflect the NSA’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the effective utilization of the country’s human resources.
With the commencement of the 2024/2025 service year, the NSA looks forward to another productive year as graduates across Ghana contribute to various sectors, including education, health, and public services, in line with national development goals.
