Ghanaian investigative journalist and author, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has shared insights into the growing dissatisfaction among some Members of Parliament regarding the current state of Ghana’s legislative body. In an interview on The Point of View with Bernard Avle, Manasseh revealed that Asawase MP, Muntaka Mubarak, believes that 70% of the nation’s problems can be traced back to Parliament.

Muntaka, along with First Deputy Speaker Joseph Osei-Owusu, has expressed discontent with the inefficiencies within Parliament, describing it as a “mess” that is challenging to reform from within. Despite their frustrations, they acknowledge the difficulty of effecting change due to the entrenched nature of the issues.

Manasseh’s comments come on the heels of the release of his latest book, “The President Ghana Never Got,” which was launched on August 8. The book continues his examination of Ghana’s political landscape, following his 2016 publication, “The Fourth John: Reign, Rejection & Rebound,” which focused on the presidency of John Dramani Mahama.
