President John Dramani Mahama has named Alex Segbefia as the Chief of Staff to the Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. The appointment, announced on January 28, 2025, is part of the government’s strategy to strengthen policy coordination and governance under its “Resetting Ghana” agenda.

Alex Segbefia, a seasoned public servant, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, making him well-positioned to support the Vice President in implementing key policies and initiatives.
Additionally, the President has appointed Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, a former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as Policy Advisor to the Vice President. This appointment underscores the government’s focus on tapping into the expertise of seasoned professionals to drive its agenda forward.
