The house of a fetish priest, Osman Majeed, has reportedly been set ablaze by unidentified individuals at Barniekrom, located in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region. This incident follows the alleged shooting of three people by Majeed on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Majeed is accused of fatally shooting three individuals whom he claimed had attacked him. Following the incident, Majeed fled and remains at large.
In what appears to be a retaliatory act, unknown persons have burned down the suspect’s house.
Kingsley Asare, the assemblyman for the Barniekrom electoral area, confirmed the incident to Channel One News. He reported that while calm has been restored, there is a need for continued police patrols to maintain order.
“The chief informed me about the burning of Komfo Osman’s residence. This happened yesterday morning. I organized my unit committee members to verify the situation, and upon arrival, we found one of Osman’s buildings burned. We have officially reported the incident to the police. Although the community has returned to normal, I believe the security services will continue monitoring the situation at Barniekrom,” Asare stated.
In a related development, the police have arrested an individual believed to be a friend of the suspect.
