The Chairman of the governing board of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Herbert Krapa, has assured Ghanaians that the ongoing intermittent power outages, commonly known as “Dumsor,” will soon be resolved.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Volta River Authority’s (VRA) 15MW Solar Plant in Kaleo, Mr. Krapa, who also serves as the Deputy Energy Minister, stated that the government has implemented measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply for consumers.
“We are fully confident that the measures being put in place should resolve the service interruptions. We empathize with all consumers and apologize unreservedly for the effects of the outages on our daily lives. Please bear with us.
We are fixing it and we are nearly there,” Mr. Krapa said in a Facebook post.
The power cuts have been ongoing for over a month, leading to calls from the public for the Ministry of Energy to publish an official timetable to keep consumers informed about power availability.
