Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of Corporate Services, has reassured Ghanaians of the security and robustness of the EC’s systems, ensuring a transparent and credible election on December 7.
Addressing concerns about missing Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs), Dr. Asare emphasized that all EC systems are active, secure, and prepared for the upcoming activities. He clarified that while reports indicated missing BVDs, it was, in fact, five laptops, part of the Biometric Voters Registration (BVRs) kits, that were stolen.
Dr. Asare underscored the EC’s dedication to transparency and credibility under the leadership of the chairperson. He highlighted the EC’s practice of providing reports to all political parties during registration exercises, ensuring transparency in the process.
He explained that political parties receive regular reports on the registration process, including an end-of-day report, allowing them to monitor and verify the data. Dr. Asare emphasized that political parties are involved at every stage of the EC’s activities, ensuring they can provide quality assurance.
