Ghanaian gospel musician Philipa Baafi has disclosed that she’s ready to serve in Nana Akuaffo- Addo’s administration if she’s given the opportunity do so.
She stated that despite the fact that most people have the perception that gospel artistes and musicians will not be able to serve in political areas, she is ever willing to embrace any political position given her in order to serve her county.
“I will never say never. Imagine if someone should call on me to serve mankind , why won’t I? Even though God hasn’t revealed to me yet. But anything that will bring progress and honour to the name of God, that will bring development to Ghana and improve the lives of many people if I’m called, I will gladly do it because I’m a citizen of this country.”
“Whilst I continue to be a citizen of this county, I will a accept any tasks assigned to me wholeheartedly. It’s like being in school and you’ve been chosen to be the class prefect, you have to do it because those who choose you know that you can do it.”
“So if I’m called to be given a political appointment I won’t refuse on the basis that I’m a gospel artiste. When we talk about leadership, it’s not about riding in big vehicles, it is service to mankind and your nation.”
She emphatically stated that she will gladly open her arms and accept any political position if she should be given the opportunity to serve her country despite the fact that she’s a gospel artiste.
