Artistes do not need ‘beefs’ to stay relevant- David Bolton.

David Kwamena Bolton, a music producer has urged artistes to build their carrer beyond controversies, arguments and ‘beefs’ in order to stay relevant for a long while.

He said on Daybreak hitz on Hitz fm
“Right now as musicians, we have been empowered so much that you can actually become a global phenomenon without a record label”.

“There are so many musicians out there that do not have record labels but you go on Spotify and look at their streams, 10 million. 20 million, 50 million views”.

For artistes to achieve that milestone without controversies, they need to build a fan base that they do not only connect but also stay perpetually relevant to the fan base. He added.

According to him, the world has changed so much that artistes can use streaming platforms and interact with their fans which also creates the connection.

D’kaybee as he is populary known cited an example using Taylor Swift, the biggest recording artist in 2019 and said that the singer used Facebook to interact with fans even before social media became a bigger platform.

She shared her story and inspiration behind her works which helped her to create connections with her fan base. This according to the music producer can leave a lasting memory of the artists to her fan base and will create memories concerning the singers story and inspiration behind her works.
