‘I Don’t Do Drugs, I Only…….’ – Ike Quartey Finally Speaks After Viral Photos Of Him Looking ‘Frail And Shabby’ Got Ghanaians Worried

Former World Welterweight Champion, Ike ‘Bazooka’ Quartey has finally broken silence on viral photos of him looking frail and shabby.

Ike Quartey recently met Boxing Hall of Famer Azumah Nelson at an event.

What was supposed to be a lovely meet-up of two boxing legends has rather brought up questions about Quartey’s life.

In a photo, Quartey and Azumah are seen seated behind a table with glasses and champagne bottles.

Azumah Nelson was dressed in a fine African print shirt while Quartey wore a yellow-coloured shirt.

From the photo, Quartey looked visibly older than Azumah even though the latter is eleven years older.

Azumah was born on July 19, 1958, while Quartey was born on November 27, 1969.

After the first photo of Quartey and Azumah popped up, another one of him looking frail and shabby came up.

The viral photos of now Ike Quartey got many Ghanaians worried as they took to social media to express their varying opinions.

However, the World Welterweight Champion has rubbished rumors that he’s into drugs.

“I wish to tell the world that I don’t do drugs. I love myself and I will never do that. All those making those suggestions are wrong. I am very fine,” Ike said.

According to him, he loves himself and so he will never do drugs.

He further explained why his hair has grown also insisted that he’s financially stable.

“Since my retirement I have focused on my family and businesses. I am building a hospital. I am financially ok. I only decided to grow my hair but it doesn’t mean am on drugs,” he stated.
