President Akufo-Addo has called on Ghanaians to oppose John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, in the upcoming December elections.
He believes that electing Mahama would undermine the progress made during his administration and put the nation’s development at risk.
Speaking at a small rally in Doboro, Greater Accra, after visiting Blue Skies Limited, President Akufo-Addo reiterated his support for Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as his chosen successor for the presidency.
He urged eligible voters to register for the elections, emphasizing that voting is a fundamental right and a source of power.
The president expressed his concern that handing over power to Mahama would jeopardize the achievements of his administration.
He urged voters to support Dr. Bawumia, stating that he has confidence in his ability to continue the work he has started.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission has commenced a nationwide limited registration exercise for individuals who have turned eighteen.
The registration, which began on May 7, is scheduled to conclude on May 20.
