The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), has arrested 10 foreign nationals suspected of engaging in cybercrime operations in Weija, located in the Greater Accra Region.
A statement from the Police revealed that the operation, led by the Cybercrime Unit, was an intelligence-driven effort aimed at dismantling a sophisticated digital fraud network. The suspects include individuals from China and Malaysia.
During the raid, law enforcement officers confiscated more than 800 assorted mobile phones, multiple computers, and numerous charging devices, all believed to have been tools used in the alleged cyber activities.
The arrested individuals are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations. The seized equipment has been submitted for forensic analysis to aid the inquiry.
Authorities say this is part of broader efforts to combat cybercrime networks operating within Ghana’s borders.
