Upper West’s Lawrence Puozaa Named National Best Differently Abled Farmer

75-year-old Lawrence Puozaa from the Daffiama Bussie Issa District in the Upper West Region has been honoured as the 2025 National Best Differently Abled Farmer at the 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration held in Ho, Volta Region.

Mr. Puozaa, whose remarkable dedication to farming spans several decades, was celebrated for his resilience, innovation and commitment to food production despite his physical limitations. His award underscores the vital contributions differently abled farmers continue to make toward Ghana’s agricultural development.

As part of his recognition, Mr. Puozaa received a prize package that included a MK22 diesel horsepower tricycle with a multifunctional tractor, a cash prize of GH¢200,000 jointly sponsored by AGRA and the Government of Ghana, two jet motorised sprayers, pieces of cutlasses, Wellington boots and assorted agrochemicals.
