Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), has honored Mr. Salifu Ibrahim, a sanitation worker and Youth Employment Agency (YEA) beneficiary, for his remarkable display of honesty.
During his routine duties in the Tamale metropolitan area, Mr. Ibrahim discovered GH₵20,000 in a waste bag. Instead of keeping the money, he informed his colleagues, took the funds home for safekeeping, and waited for the rightful owner to claim it. Days later, the owner came forward, and Mr. Ibrahim returned the entire amount.
To celebrate his integrity, Zoomlion held a ceremony on January 23, 2025, in Accra, where Mr. Ibrahim was rewarded with an undisclosed sum of Ghana cedis, U.S. dollars, and a motorbike. He was also flown to Accra for the first time and accommodated in a luxurious hotel.
Dr. Ato Sarpong, a board member of JGC, commended Mr. Ibrahim, stating, “His act of godliness has elevated the Zoomlion and Jospong brands worldwide.” Dr. Sarpong prayed for blessings upon Mr. Ibrahim, encouraging others to emulate his values.
The Northern Regional Public Jobs Coordinator for Zoomlion, Haruna Suleiman, described Mr. Ibrahim as a dedicated and disciplined worker who has been with the company for eight years without complaints.
Expressing gratitude to Zoomlion and his supervisor, Mr. Ibrahim shared that he had never owned such a large sum but was committed to honesty. “I couldn’t spend someone’s money and tarnish my reputation,” he remarked, adding his hope for a collective effort to rebuild Ghana with integrity.
This act of recognition underscores Zoomlion’s commitment to promoting its core values of honesty, godliness, and responsibility while encouraging all Ghanaians to uphold such principles in their daily lives.
