Ghana’s Black Stars secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Madagascar in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match, strengthening their position at the top of Group I with a five-point lead.

The Black Stars opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Thomas Partey, who capitalized on a well-placed free kick to head home the first goal.

Madagascar responded with attacking intent, with Rayan Reveloson attempting a long-range shot in the 23rd minute, but his effort failed to trouble Ghana’s goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare.

Ghana maintained control of possession, frustrating Madagascar’s midfield. This led to a yellow card for Baggio in the 25th minute after a rough challenge on Jordan Ayew. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the Black Stars.

Ghana started the second half with intensity, creating multiple scoring chances. Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew both missed early attempts before Partey doubled the lead in the 53rd minute. The Arsenal midfielder connected with a perfectly delivered corner kick from Jordan Ayew to score his second goal of the match.

Just five minutes later, Jordan Ayew showcased his playmaking ability, dribbling past three defenders before setting up Mohammed Kudus, who smashed in Ghana’s third goal.

Ghana continued to control possession and saw the game out comfortably. In the 71st minute, Iñaki Williams replaced Antoine Semenyo, while Madagascar made three consecutive substitutions in an attempt to change their fortunes.

El Hadary Raheriniana came close for Madagascar in the 74th minute with a curling effort, but Benjamin Asare made a crucial save to maintain Ghana’s clean sheet.
