Former Adansi Asokwa MP, K.T. Hammond, has cautioned that Ghana will face serious challenges if former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not elected President in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, September 10, Mr. Hammond expressed strong confidence in the NPP flagbearer’s competence and leadership qualities. He dismissed criticisms against Dr. Bawumia, particularly those based on his religious background, describing such claims as unfounded.
“It is madness to say Bawumia cannot be President because he is a Muslim. Have you monitored his capabilities and hard work? We will suffer if Bawumia is not elected as President,” Mr. Hammond said.
He urged Ghanaians to focus on ability, dedication, and vision rather than religion when choosing the country’s next leader.
