We Were Planning to Do My Second Sing-a-thon Attempt at Times Square, USA – Afua Asantewaa

Record hopeful Afua Asantewaa has disclosed that her team initially planned to hold her second sing-a-thon attempt at Times Square in New York City, USA.

Following her widely publicized debut attempt in Accra in December 2023, Asantewaa made a second attempt in Kumasi in December 2024. However, this attempt was met with limited public support, lukewarm publicity, and harsh criticism on social media.

Addressing her critics, Asantewaa expressed frustration in a video, questioning why those who had threatened her online did not show up in Kumasi to stop the event. She also refuted allegations of political ties and financial support, saying, “You think I’m NPP and probably you think that they gave me $1 billion, which is never the case.”

Asantewaa’s revelation about the Times Square plan came as a surprise. She shared, “The interesting conversation is that those who know, know that we were planning to hold the second attempt at Times Square in New York. They all knew; from my team to my manager to Global Media Alliance, they all knew.”
