The Chairman of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has disclosed that the committee will soon present its findings to President John Dramani Mahama after reviewing over 700 petitions submitted by the public.
Speaking to Citi News, Ablakwa, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, emphasized that the committee’s primary objective is to promote accountability and ensure government officials remain answerable for their actions.
“We are in the process of compiling all the cases and will present our report to the president shortly,” he stated. “So far, we have received over 700 petitions, and while it has been a challenging task, there is strong political will to see this through. Our dedication to accountability remains as strong as it was when we were in opposition. This commitment serves as a clear deterrent to those of us in government.”
The committee is preparing to validate the information it has gathered to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
“We aim to wrap up our work in the coming weeks. While we have completed most of the field validation in the capital, where significant cases of alleged looting were reported, we have also collected reports from other regions. Starting this weekend, we will visit these regions to validate the submissions thoroughly,” Ablakwa explained.
The committee’s efforts underscore the government’s dedication to combating corruption and ensuring transparency, a commitment that is expected to resonate across the country.
