Veteran broadcaster Godwin Avenorgbor, affectionately known as “Big Godwin” or “The Grandmaster,” has passed away. He died on August 19, 2024, though the cause of death has not been disclosed.
Godwin Avenorgbor was well-regarded in the media industry and served as the Director of Communication for the Melcom Group of Companies until his passing. He was also known for his work at Ghana Television, where his contributions left a lasting impact.
Ghana Television confirmed his death in a statement, expressing sorrow at his passing and honoring his legacy. “The ‘Grandmaster’ (Godwin Avenorgbor) bows out. May his gentle soul rest in peace,” the statement read.
