Van de Beek: Player To Wear No.34 Jersey At Manchester United In Honour Of Abdelhak Nouri

Donny will wear the No.34 shirt at Manchester United to honour friend Abdelhak Nouri.

Nouri suffered a cardiac arrest during an Ajax friendly in 2017 which left him with permanent brain damage.

Donny is the latest former teammate of Nouri’s at Ajax to wear his number at their respective clubs.

Justin Kluivert at Roma, Amin Younes at Napoli, Philippe Sandler at Anderlecht, Kevin Diks at Fiorentina and Joel Veltman at Brighton all wear the No.34.

The 23-year-old has joined in a £40million transfer from Dutch giants Ajax.

Donny has signed a five-year contract around £107,000-a-week before bonuses.

A product of Ajax’s famous academy, the midfielder has made 175 appearances for the Dutch club, scoring 41 goals.

He won the Eredivisie and the Dutch Cup in the 2018-19 campaign, and was part of the Ajax side that was beaten by United in the 2017 Europa League final.
