In Koforidua Asokore, located behind the Odomankoma block factory in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region, the lifeless body of an unidentified woman in her forties was found on the evening of Wednesday, October 11.
At approximately 7 p.m., concerned residents in the area made the chilling discovery. Responding swiftly to a distress call, officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the municipality, in collaboration with the Effiduase district police, arrived at the scene.
While the exact cause of her demise remains shrouded in mystery, the police have initiated an investigation into the incident. This discovery has left local residents increasingly anxious, given that it marks the third such incident in less than a month. Last month, two women met tragic ends at the hands of unknown assailants.
Kankam Twumasi Daniel, the Deputy Municipal Director of NADMO for New Juaben North, confirmed the incident to Citi News. He reported that the deceased woman’s body has been transported to the St. Joseph Hospital morgue for a thorough autopsy.
“At approximately 7 p.m. yesterday, we received a report that the lifeless body of an unidentified woman in her forties had been located behind the Odomankoma block factory in Asokore. A joint team consisting of NADMO officials and the Ghana Police Service was swiftly organized to transfer the body to St. Joseph’s mortuary.
