Bayern Munich Vs PSG: Match Report

The sensational Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain edged an exhilarating quarter-final first-leg clash against Bayern 3-2 in Munich to leave the holders staring at a Champions League exit.
PSG
In a breathless first half, PSG had two shots compared to Bayern’s 15 but, most importantly, both attempts found the net as Mbappe opened the scoring after just 149 seconds, before Marquinhos made it two just before the half-hour mark. Both goals were brilliantly set up by Neymar.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting who replaced the injured Robert Lewandowski – headed his side back into it eight minutes before the break, before Thomas Muller completed the comeback to level things up on the hour mark.
However, PSG’s superstar striker had the final say, as he raced clear on the counter to score a superb winner in the 68th minute, his eighth Champions League goal of a stellar season to raise his stock yet further and put his side in the driving seat to reach the last four.
The defeat was just Bayern’s second loss in 29 Champions League games.

FC Porto Vs Chelsea: Match Report

Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell netted for the first time in the Champions League to give Chelsea two vital away goals and a 2-0 over Porto in Seville.
The Portuguese side, playing ‘at home’ for this first leg at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez in Seville, looked the more dangerous side for large parts of the first 45 minutes.

Pepe, Luis Diaz and Mateus Uribe each went close for Porto, but it was Chelsea who landed the all-important away goal after 30 minutes.
Jorginho’s killer pass picked out Mason Mount in the box, the England midfielder turning brilliant before driving across the outstretched Agustin Marchesin.
Porto again pressed the Blues backline as they went in search of an equaliser and almost had it when Moussa Marega caught Antonio Rudiger napping and forced a smart save from Edouard Mendy.
And the Blues had the second goal their game management deserved, with Ben Chilwell striding through on goal, rounding the ‘keeper and slotting into an empty net for his first goal in Europe too.
