The Ghana Police Service has arrested two women following the seizure of 1,650 slabs of suspected Indian hemp during a raid in the Eastern North Region.
The suspects, Hawa Ibrahim and Latifa Adams, were apprehended on Wednesday, May 14, in Antokrom during an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Eastern North Regional Police Command.
A search of Hawa Ibrahim’s home revealed 24 maxi bags filled with compressed and ball-shaped substances believed to be cannabis.
According to a police statement, both women are currently in custody and assisting with investigations. Authorities confirmed that the suspects will be processed for prosecution in accordance with Ghanaian law.
