Two Female Suspects in Pooley’s Murder Case Granted GH₵600,000 Bail

The Sunyani District Court ‘B’ has granted bail to two female suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Francis Frimpong, a Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC supporter.

Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa, also known as “Akosua Black Chinese,” and Yaa Asantewaa were each granted GH₵300,000 bail with two sureties, one of which must be justified. Presiding Judge Eric Daning ordered them to report to the police twice a week and restricted them from leaving the Sunyani Municipality without judicial approval for the first 14 days.

The suspects have been charged with “abetment to commit crime, to wit murder” under Sections 20(1) and 46 of the Criminal Offenses Act 1960 (Act 29). They are set to reappear in court on February 17, 2025.

Meanwhile, the court has ordered the continued detention of two other suspects, Isaac Fosu and Augustine Yeboah, for further investigations.

Francis Frimpong, also known as “Pooley,” was fatally stabbed on February 2, 2025, during a Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC at the Nsoatre Professor Amoah Koromansah II Stadium.

The police have so far arrested seven suspects in connection with the crime, including Nsoatreman FC owner Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Joseph Kyeremeh (also known as ‘Santos’), and Police Inspector Agyemang Duah Owusu.
