A tragic accident near the Aggrey Memorial School in Cape Coast claimed three lives on Friday, December 27, 2024, when a bus traveling from Takoradi to Accra overturned.
The bus, registered as GW 6231-21, was carrying approximately 53 passengers when it fell on its side, trapping several individuals inside.
The Central Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Abdul Wasiu Hudu, reported that the incident occurred around 6:48 am. Emergency response teams, including GNFS officers, police personnel, and ambulance services, worked together to rescue the trapped passengers and transport them to nearby hospitals.
Twenty-three injured passengers are receiving treatment at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, while nine others have been treated and discharged. Unfortunately, three individuals were confirmed dead at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
