Premier League champions, Liverpool have agreed a total £25m deal to sign Thiago Alcantara from German giants Bayern Munich subject to a medical.
After a long discussions between both clubs for about some months now, Byarn CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed today to BILD that they have finally agreed deal for Thiago to join Liverpool.
Bayern, however tried several times to renew Alcantara’s contract but he refused and insisted he wanted a new challenge, hence he chose Liverpool as his next destination.
According to the latest report, the Spaniard will take the number 6 jersey at Liverpool which was worn by Dejan Lovren, who left the club to join Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg after six years.
Thiago helped Bayern win the treble last season, as they beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final last month in Lisbon.
Thiago joined Bayern Munich from Barcelona in 2013 where he went on to win seven Bundesliga titles and four DFB-Pokal cups.
