The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced guidelines for its parliamentary primaries in the Tamale Central Constituency ahead of the upcoming by-election.
In a statement signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party said nomination forms will be available at the NDC Northern Regional Office, where completed forms must also be submitted. A certified delegates’ list will be released to aspirants after the vetting process.
The party pegged the cost of nomination forms at GH₵5,000, with filing fees set at GH₵40,000. However, female aspirants and persons with disabilities will pay half the filing fee.
All filing fees, the statement added, must be paid in cash directly into the NDC’s official account at Universal Merchant Bank, Adabraka Branch, account number 0101328345014. Cheques and bankers’ drafts will not be accepted.
The party urged aspirants and their supporters to comply with the guidelines and conduct their campaigns peacefully.
The by-election was triggered by the death of the sitting MP, Dr. Murtala Muhammed.
