Jeffery Ebo Arhin, a student at Swedru Senior High School (SHS), has earned an internship opportunity with a reputable credit union after gaining nationwide recognition for his honesty in returning a missing purse.
In addition to the internship, Jeffery received a GH¢1,000 cash reward for his commendable act of integrity.
Swedru SHS headmistress, Golda Esi Andam, shared the news during an interview on Prime Morning on Joy Prime, expressing her pride in Jeffery. She revealed that the student’s video had gone viral, attracting numerous calls and additional opportunities for him.
Madam Andam also disclosed plans to hold a ceremony at the school’s assembly grounds, where Jeffery will receive further donations to inspire his peers.
Jeffery, along with another student, returned the purse, which contained GH¢200 and some coins. While their initial reward of GH¢30 from the school drew mixed reactions on social media, Jeffery’s honesty ultimately brought him significant recognition and opportunities.
Despite his noble action, Jeffery admitted that some of his friends mocked him for returning the purse, but he remains an example of integrity and loyalty.
