A suspected gas explosion at the University of Ghana’s Bush Canteen on Wednesday evening caused extensive damage, destroying several shops and sending panic through the campus community.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud blast before flames rapidly spread through nearby stalls, filling the air with thick smoke. Vendors and students in the area fled for safety as the fire engulfed multiple structures.

Firefighters and emergency responders arrived swiftly to contain the blaze. While no casualties have been confirmed yet, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion. Initial reports suggest it may have resulted from a gas leak.
