Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, on Monday, August 26th, 2024 officially commissioned the state-of-the-art Macoy Sports Stadium in Nadowli. This impressive facility, realized through Speaker Bagbin’s personal initiative and the support of Ghana Gas and Wembley Sports Construction, underscores his dedication to community development and the advancement of sports.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Speaker Bagbin remarked, “This magnificent facility is not only a gift to Nadowli but to the entire nation. It symbolizes what can be achieved through collective effort and dedication to a common cause.”
The stadium, equipped with world-class amenities and a substantial seating capacity, is set to transform sports development in the region. It will serve as a central hub for local athletes, host competitive matches, and accommodate various community events.
The commissioning ceremony was highlighted by an exhilarating football match between the “Bagbin 11” team and a squad of former Black Stars players, led by the legendary Stephen Appiah. In a thrilling encounter, the “Bagbin 11” team triumphed with an impressive score of 7-2, much to the delight of the large crowd that gathered to witness the event.
