The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) will begin reimbursing academic user fees paid by first-year students at public tertiary institutions starting June 2025, under the government’s No-Fees-Stress policy.
The announcement was made by the SLTF’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Saajida Shiraz, in a statement released in Accra on May 12. The initiative targets students pursuing accredited diploma or degree programs for the 2024/2025 academic year.
“This move is a significant step towards alleviating the financial burden on first-year students,” Dr. Shiraz stated, emphasizing that the policy aligns with the Ministry of Education’s directives and reflects the Mahama administration’s commitment to building Ghana’s human capital.
To access the reimbursement, eligible students are required to submit applications through the No-Fees-Stress portal at https://nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh. Applications will be verified against admission data from public tertiary institutions.
Dr. Shiraz encouraged all first-year students to apply promptly to ensure timely reimbursement and avoid delays.
