Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus engaged in a heated social media exchange, telling a critic to “shut the fu*k up!” following backlash over his performance with the Black Stars.
Kudus, who plays for West Ham United, started in Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR), where the Black Stars secured victories in both games. Despite contributing an assist for Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s goal in the 4-3 win against CAR in Kumasi, Kudus faced criticism for his perceived ball-holding during the match.
One critic, Wan Prince, tweeted: “Mohammed Kudus needs to be talked to, what kind of selfishness and unnecessary ball control is that?” Kudus responded directly, inviting the critic to “Come and talk to me yourself.”
Another user, Steeze, added: “You people for talk Kudus the truth. He’s not Messi, neither is he Ronaldo. He should stop doing too much and release the ball quickly.” Kudus replied curtly with: “Masa stfu!!!!!”
Since making his international debut in 2019, Kudus has been a prominent figure for the Black Stars, scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances. Despite the recent criticism, his contributions on the field continue to be vital for Ghana’s national team.
