In a recent interview on GTV, popular dancehall artist Shatta Wale has called for the arrest of Prophet Nigel Gaisie following an alleged prophecy regarding the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah.
Expressing his disappointment with the lack of action taken against Gaisie by authorities, Shatta Wale emphasized his determination to put an end to what he perceives as false prophecies.
During the interview, Shatta Wale stated, “I promised myself that upon my release from prison, I would ensure that these pastors are stopped from making these nonsense false prophecies.”
The controversy stems from Gaisie’s prophecy last year, in which he cryptically warned of an impending attack targeting a Deputy Minister of Finance, sparking speculation after Kumah’s passing in March 2024.
Adding complexity to the situation, Kumah’s widow revealed that Gaisie had prior knowledge of her late husband’s health condition since November 2023 and had a personal relationship with him.
She questioned the authenticity and motive behind Gaisie’s prophetic utterances, emphasizing his knowledge of Kumah’s terminal illness.
Shatta Wale’s vocal stance highlights the tension between religious prophecy and accountability, igniting debate over the role of spiritual leaders in public discourse and the consequences of their proclamations.
As the controversy unfolds, there is a growing demand for transparency and accountability within the realm of prophecy.
