Savannah Region NPP Vice Chairman Allegedly Assaulted by Soldiers in Bole

In Bole, Savannah Region, soldiers sent to a galamsey site have been accused of assaulting Yakubu Mahama, the Vice Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The soldiers were reportedly there to safeguard Chinese nationals involved in illegal mining activities.

The incident began when Yakubu Mahama allegedly requested to speak with the leader of the military team. This led to a confrontation between him and the soldiers.

The altercation escalated, prompting Mahama’s brother to contact the NPP Secretary for Bole-Bamboi. The Secretary, accompanied by a group of young men, went to the Bole Police Station, further intensifying the situation.
