Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Sam Nartey George, has met with Kwame Lighter, a Kumasi-based iPhone technician who went viral for his incredible repair skills.
Lighter, the face behind the account Lighter Fixes Apple, captured national attention in early April after sharing a video of himself attempting to fix a faulty iPhone 15 Pro Max. What stunned viewers wasn’t just his technical ability, it was his boyish appearance, with many online mistaking him for a teenager under 15. However, he revealed that he was around 27 years.
In a video making waves on social media, the young phone repairer was seen in Sam George’s office, enjoying a candid and cheerful exchange. The Minister, now an open fan of the viral sensation, revealed that he had long admired Lighter’s work from afar and had looked forward to meeting him in person.
Though full details of their discussion remain undisclosed, reports suggest that the tech-savvy repairer received a multi-million cedi support deal or partnership offer aimed at expanding his skills and brand.
