Rumors Untrue, Thomas Partey Is Not Moving – Representatives

Representatives of Ghanaian-born defensive midfielder, Thomas Partey, have recently denied reports that their client has opened discussions with English side Arsenal.

The Ghanaian international has been on the priority list of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. The news broke out after his father, Jacob Partey was quoted to have said in an interview that his son was leaving the Spanish side to Arsenal. However the reps of partey has strongly denied the reports in the media of any such ongoing negotiations

The 26-year-old has a £43million buy-out clause in his contract but Atletico Madrid are thought to want to tie him down to a new contract to prevent him leaving.

The management of the English side have been in constant touch with reps of the defensive midfielder broadening consultations to win him over. Partey has in recent times exhibited commitment and skill which we believe are the attraction points for Arteta.

He is a key player for Diego Simeone and shone in their two-legged Champions League defeat of European champions Liverpool before football’s coronavirus-enforced break.
