Rawlings Killed My Father By Firing Squad- Nana Serwaa Acheampong

Daughter Of Ignatius Kutu Acheampong, expresses no pain to the death of JJ Rawlings, saying he killed her father by firing squad in a statement.

Nana Serwaa Acheampong is the daughter of Ignatius Kutu Acheampong, the then a military head of state of Ghana. He ruled from 13 January 1972 to 5 July 1978 and was later executed by a firing squad ordered by Jerry John Rawlings.

His daughter who could withstand the heartbreak said in the past she will never forgive Rawlings for the pain he caused her.

According to Nana Serwaa, she did not believe the news at first, when her visitor said Rawlings is dead. She then asked for the source of the news, which is Graphic Online before accepting it. 

The Former President died on the 12, November.2020, after battling a short illness.

She further noted that when Rawlings was alive people often asked her how she felt about him and her  response, is  “nothing”

“Rawlings took my father away from me by firing squad, leaving me with no father to provide for me or protect me. Rawlings is dead and I feel cheated,” she added.

Speaking further, she had spent her life hating him for having to kill her father. ” Now he is dead, and somehow I feel robbed, cheated because unlike my father, Rawlings’ death was too easy, too comfortable probably. Death by firing squad, that’s how my father died,” she said.

Ending her statement, she indicated aside from feeling cheated and robbed, she  feels nothing about Jerry John Rawlings.” except pity for his children who now know the pain of losing a father.”
