Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, Member of Parliament for Wa Central, has renewed his call for the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the recent spate of killings in Wa. Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show with Caleb Kudah, Dr. Pelpuo stressed the urgent need to prevent further harm to residents, condemning the murders that have instilled fear in the community.
With over 15 people brutally murdered, residents have been living in fear. In June 2024, Dr. Pelpuo announced a GH¢100,000 bounty for information leading to the perpetrators’ arrest. He called for a stronger security presence in the area, criticizing the current efforts as inadequate and expressing disappointment in the lack of assurances from security agencies.
Dr. Pelpuo also accepted responsibility for the lack of progress and criticized the police for failing to make arrests. He highlighted the negative impact on local businesses and endorsed the community’s decision to set up their own security measures. Dr. Pelpuo emphasized his commitment to working with the people to track down the murderers and ensure the security system is effective in arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators.
