Racing Club president Victor Blanco has openly recognised that Barcelona have made contact with Inter forward Lautaro Martinez.
The 22-year-old played for Racing before making the move to Italy in the summer of 2018 for a fee of 25 million euros.
“I’ve spoken to the people around Lautaro, to those who advise him, and they’ve told me that Barcelona are following him closely,” Blanco told TyC Sports.
“We [at Racing] all want him to be happy and play where he really wants to play.
“I’m sure he will make a decision for his own good.”
Lautaro currently has a 111 million euro release clause, which Inter are pointing to, but Barcelona will look to reduce this amount by including players in the deal.
Should Lautaro make the move to the Camp Nou, Racing would be due a percentage of the money as a sell-on fee.
