In a surprising turn of events, protesters participating in the Occupy Julorbi House demonstration have directed their frustration towards Jake Bediako, the Presidential Coordinator of Youth Engagement and Strategy. The demonstrators have accused Bediako of neglecting his responsibilities and indulging in extravagance while failing to address the concerns of Ghana’s youth.

It has been revealed that since 2021, an astonishing $2.13 million has been spent on his travel expenses and bonuses. This amount has raised eyebrows as it surpasses the total earnings of all doctors in the Upper East region over the past two years.
Furthermore, protesters have criticized Bediako for being absent from the country while the demonstration unfolded. Video evidence circulating on social media showed him in New York City, seemingly relaxed and disconnected from the ongoing issues in Accra.
Despite holding a pivotal position aimed at connecting diasporans to Ghana, the allegations against Bediako have cast a shadow over his effectiveness in this role. The protesters argue that his actions and expenditures do not align with the principles of fiscal responsibility and accountability that Ghana’s youth expect from their leaders.
