Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has broken her silence following her recent hospitalization at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
The Vice President reportedly fell ill after work on Friday, March 28, and was taken to UGMC for treatment on Saturday, March 29.
An official statement from the Presidency confirmed that she received prompt medical attention. While details of her illness were not disclosed, the statement assured the public that she was in stable condition and had been advised to seek further medical care abroad as a precautionary measure.
News of her hospitalization sparked widespread concern, with Ghanaians flooding social media with prayers and well wishes. Political leaders, religious figures, and members of the public also expressed support for her speedy recovery.
In the midst of the concerns, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang acknowledged the outpouring of goodwill in her special Eid Mubarak message to the Muslim community.
“Likewise, I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend,” she stated.
Her brief message reassured Ghanaians of her appreciation for their prayers and support.
