President John Mahama has donated two vehicles he received as gifts to the state’s official vehicle pool.
The announcement, made on Monday, May 5, coincided with the launch of his administration’s new code of conduct for public appointees, a framework designed to uphold integrity and accountability in government.
The cars were formally handed over by Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu to the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah. According to Mr. Ofosu, public officials are expected to surrender any gifts of such nature to the state to maintain ethical standards.
This act is part of President Mahama’s broader agenda to promote principled governance. At the launch of the code of conduct earlier in the day, he reiterated a firm stance against corruption, abuse of power, and misconduct among appointees.
The newly introduced guidelines aim to instill discipline, ensure respectful interaction with the public, and prevent misuse of office. President Mahama also warned that breaches of these ethical standards would be met with strict penalties, including possible dismissal
