The damaged statue of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi has been fully repaired, restoring it to its original state.

The statue, unveiled on November 6 in honor of the president, had suffered damage to the back of one of its legs. The cause of the damage remains uncertain, with speculation ranging from deliberate vandalism—amid earlier threats from some residents to remove the statue—to potential structural defects.

The monument has been the subject of controversy, as many Sekondi residents have expressed dissatisfaction with its installation. They argue that the resources could have been better utilized to complete critical regional projects, including the Takoradi Market Circle, the PTC roundabout three-tier interchange, and the dualization of the Sekondi-Takoradi road.
