The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo is reportedly set to collapse all the seven specialized ministries he created during his first term.
The ministries include; Inner-City and Zongo Development, Business Development, Regional Reorganization and Development and Planning.
The rest are Special Development Initiatives, Aviation and Sanitation.
The President in his first term had 36 substantive ministers and seven ministers of state overall.
There were also 48 deputy ministers, as well as 16 regional ministers and 16 deputy regional ministers, bringing the total number of ministers and deputy ministers to 123.
The seven ministries are being collapsed by the president because they achieved their purpose, a source close to the development told pro-government media, Asaase Radio.
According to a report filed on Asaaseradio.com, Akufo-Addo’s number of ministers in his second term is expected to decrease by “at least 30%.”
