BREAKING: Ghana Police Arrest Seven Suspects In Connection With Nima Chaos (Watch)

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has begun investigations after weapons and ammunition were discovered in an abandoned vehicle along the Aputuoagya–Bekwai road on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

According to a police statement signed by DSP Godwin Ahianyo, officers from the Kuntanase District Patrol Team found a white Toyota Sienta, registration number NR 289-24, suspiciously parked by a bush. Two men believed to be smoking a narcotic substance fled into the bush when they spotted the police and managed to escape.

A search of the vehicle uncovered:

An AK-47 assault rifle (Serial No. 29546)

A locally manufactured firearm

Two AK-47 magazines, each loaded with 30 rounds

Four packets of AK-47 ammunition (25 rounds each)

Seven loose rounds of ammunition

A Huawei smartphone

A Ghana Card and Temporary Driver’s License (details withheld)

Cowrie shells, sandals, and Wellington boots

The vehicle and exhibits have been impounded at the Kuntanase Police Station to aid investigations.

The Police Command assured the public of its resolve to curb violent crime and urged residents to share relevant information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects through emergency numbers 191, 18555, or 112.
