
The Upper West Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the suspected murder of a 55-year-old security guard, identified as Yahaya Issah, popularly known as Soja.
According to a police statement, the incident was reported on Sunday, September 21, 2025, after the deceased was discovered at Wa-Dori lying in a supine position with visible head injuries and bloodstains.
His body was conveyed to the Upper West Regional Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy. It was later released to the family and buried in accordance with Islamic tradition.
Crime scene experts from the Regional Command have since visited the area to gather evidence for ongoing investigations. On Monday, September 22, a delegation from the Command also visited the deceased’s family in Dodiyiri to express condolences and assure them of a transparent probe.
Deputy Regional Police Commander, ACP Peter Kamasa, reaffirmed the Police Service’s commitment to ensuring justice and appealed to the public for calm and cooperation.
The police are urging anyone with information relevant to the case to reach out through official communication channels.
