Police Launch Manhunt for Third Suspect in Assault of 12-Year-Old Girl at La

The Accra Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for a third suspect in connection with the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl near the La Roman Junior High School in Accra.

The suspect, identified as Priscilla Novishie Wornyo, is reported to have travelled to the Volta Region following the incident, police say.

Two other suspects—Precious Giftan Mesopeh, 22, and Princess Giftan Mesopeh, 25—have already been arrested in relation to the case. They were picked up on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, after the victim’s mother led police officers to their location.

According to police, the case was reported by the girl’s mother, who brought her daughter to the police station with visible marks of assault on her body. The complainant alleged that her daughter was attacked without provocation by three women in the vicinity of the La Roman JHS area.

Police investigations are ongoing, with efforts intensified to locate and arrest the third suspect to assist with inquiries.

The Accra Regional Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice and protecting the rights and welfare of children.
