Police Arrest Three Over Stolen Hyundai Santa Fe in Eastern Region

Three suspects have been arrested by the Eastern North Regional Police Command in connection with the theft of a Hyundai Santa Fe vehicle, with registration number GG 2–18, which was stolen from a washing bay at Kuntunse Satellite in Accra on April 24, 2025.

Two of the suspects, Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu, were apprehended from their hideout at a hotel in Nkawkaw. Their arrest led to the capture of a third accomplice, Dennis Debra, also known as Kapun, at Pemenase in the Ashanti Region.

According to police reports, preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle had been sold to Debra for GH₵15,000, of which GH₵2,000 had been paid as a part payment. The suspects, Tawiah and Asiedu, reportedly confessed to the transaction during interrogation.

A search on Debra led to the recovery of the ignition key of the stolen vehicle.

The suspects and the recovered vehicle have been transferred to the Accra Regional Police Command to assist with further investigations.
