
The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a robbery incident that occurred in December 2025 at Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region.
According to the police, the attack took place on December 2, 2025, when the suspects and their accomplices, armed with weapons, blocked the Goaso–Tepa road and launched coordinated attacks on the Nkaseim Police Station, the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, the Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank area.
During the operation, the assailants reportedly stole two AK47 rifles and made away with unspecified sums of money from the rural bank. They also took GH¢14,000 from the cocoa buying company and GH¢12,000 from the gold buying company. An employee of the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company sustained gunshot injuries during the attack.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, February 1, the police disclosed that sustained intelligence-led operations and forensic investigations led to the arrest of 35-year-old Mutar Kofi, a commercial tricycle rider, on January 16, 2026, at a location known as “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim. He reportedly confessed to participating in the robbery.
Subsequent investigations resulted in the arrest of four more suspects. They are 45-year-old Mahamadu Sagio, arrested at Nkaseim; 28-year-old Shaibu Issah Jallo, also known as Jibo, arrested at Chereponi; 40-year-old Abdul Suleman, arrested at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region; and 25-year-old Bukari Sulley, also known as Tailor, a trader at Alaba in Kumasi, arrested on January 25, 2026.
The police say efforts have been intensified to apprehend three other suspects identified as Dauda, Mohammed Ali, and Hoyeefi, who is believed to be the leader of the gang and in possession of the stolen firearms.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to tracking down the remaining suspects to ensure they face the full rigours of the law.
