Former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has been released from custody after satisfying revised bail conditions set by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
He was released on Friday, August 1, in the company of Former Attorney General Godfred Dame and his legal team. However, he has reportedly been recalled to the OSP’s office to complete some administrative procedures related to the ongoing investigation.
The OSP confirmed in a statement that the revised bail terms were negotiated with Adom-Otchere’s legal counsel and secured by the Jospong Group of Companies, which acted as surety.
“The revised terms, which meet the objectives of the original bail conditions, have been secured by the Jospong Group of Companies,” the statement said, adding that the case remains under active investigation.
Adom-Otchere was recently charged in connection with a revenue assurance contract between the Ghana Airports Company Limited and a private firm—allegedly awarded without full board approval. His initial detention was due to his inability to meet bail requirements, reportedly because he does not own landed property in Ghana.
The case continues to attract public attention as the OSP intensifies its probe into governance and procurement practices at state-owned institutions.
